Leadership Quest is designed for:

  • Students who will have finished 9th grade or higher

  • Who show an interest in leadership and have some spiritual maturity

  • Students who love their Lord and want to make a difference in their world for the sake of Christ

  • Students who enjoy new experiences, new challenges, and new ideas

  • Students involved in leadership positions in school, clubs, or other organizations

Program Overview

TENTMAKERS Leadership Quest is a one-week, wilderness-based leadership training experience designed for responsible high school students going into grades 10- 12 or a recent high school graduate and adult mentors. Participants experience a powerful intergenerational community rich with affirmation and encouragement. 

Experiential and Interactive

Experiential and interactive training sessions focus on developing relational, personal management and communication skills. Participants deepen their personal discipleship habits, cultivate leadership skills, and God-given confidence, all while discovering a vision to impact their church, school and life.

Wilderness North

This week of training is conducted during the summer months at Wilderness North, the TENTMAKERS Training and Retreat Center, in the Lake Superior National Forest 50 miles north of Duluth, Minnesota.

Steps to Follow for Leadership Quest Group Participants & Leaders Registration:

Step 1:  Print out the registration form (forms can be used for LQ or LQ2). If you are registering 2 or more people, use the Group Registration Form. Individuals complete the Individual Registration Form. Individual or Family Mentors complete the Mentor/Mentor Family Registration Form. (If you haven't already, please read the profile of an LQ student and ways to invite students before registering. Scroll down on this page to find that information.)

For TENTMAKERS Partner Churches Only: For churches/ministries who have paid and enrolled in the TENTMAKERS Partner Church Program, print out the registration form (forms can be used for LQ or LQ2). To register your group (students and adults) use the Partner Church Group Registration Form.  (If you haven't already, please read the profile of an LQ student and ways to invite students before registering. Scroll down on this page to find that information.)

Step 2:  Mail completed forms to TENTMAKERS with your deposit or mail completed forms and make your deposit online.  Immediate questions: 1-800-989- TENT.

Step 3:  For Group Registrations, download the LQ Participant List (Excel spreadsheet) and list the names and contact information for the students and adults that are coming. Email that list to info@tentm.org.

Step 4:  Print Packing ListHealth Forms and Map. Bring your completed health forms when you come. We recommend using the map rather than GPS.

Profile of a Leadership Quest Student

  • Have a relationship with Christ and desire to make it more meaningful

  • Completed 9th grade as of May/June the year they are coming to TENTMAKERS Leadership Quest

  • Currently functioning as a leader, desiring to be a leader, or have latent leadership potential

  • Are mature - meaning that they are ready for a leadership training experience, rather than an entertainment - based camp. (Not that we don't have fun!)
