Reed Nelson
Business Systems Administrator
Reed is a seasoned Tentmaker whose career blends ministry, executive support, and innovative technology. He began his journey with TENTMAKERS in 1991, completing the organization’s transformational seven-week leadership training program. He then served for nearly a decade as the Director of Youth and Music at First Baptist Church in Watertown, South Dakota—shepherding young lives and leading worship with passion and purpose. High school students came back from Leadership Quest year after year, calling it the best week of their lives.
After relocating to Minnesota in 2000, Reed brought his leadership and organizational skills into the corporate arena, serving as Executive Assistant to several high-level CEOs across various industries. In 2007, his path came full circle when he rejoined Tentmakers—this time in a strategic support role, managing IT infrastructure, web development, and vital office operations for a five-year term.
In 2024, Reed was invited back to Tentmakers to join the Administration team, bringing with him decades of cross-industry experience, a deep heart for ministry, and a talent for building systems that serve people well.
Outside the office, Reed is a creative soul with a passion for craftsmanship and music. He refurbishes vintage leather bags by hand and composes original music. His 1995 album, Simple Prayers and the Sacred Page, marked his early work in spiritual songwriting, and today, he’s at the forefront of musical innovation—writing and creating new music that integrates emerging AI technology.
