Owen Cooper
TENTMAKERS Trainer
Owen Cooper seeks to re-evangelize Wisconsin for Christ by releasing people to start new works, resourcing believers to pursue their God-given callings, and equipping emerging leaders to faithfully implement their vision. He has been involved in three church plants in Ometepec, Mexico; St. Louis Park, Minnesota; and Whitewater, Wisconsin. Owen holds a degree in Biblical Studies and Christian Education from Taylor University and a Master of Ministry from the Antioch School of Church Planting & Leadership Development. He serves as a trainer with TENTMAKERS and is actively engaged in ministry through The Greenhouse Movement.
As a TENTMAKERS trainer, Owen thrives in the shared journey of growth, valuing the interactive and discovery-driven nature of training environments. He is continually drawn back by the lasting life change he sees in the unique, deeply affirming environment of TENTMAKERS’ experiences among both the participants and the training team. He has a deep passion for the TENTMAKERS Wilderness Challenge, especially its commitment to stepping away from buildings and placing young men in a raw, outdoor setting that challenges them to behave like men, take responsibility, and grow in biblical maturity. Owen is inspired by working alongside fellow trainers, seeing diverse gifts developed and actively used for God’s purposes. One unforgettable moment came through going with a young man he had been discipling onto the meditation trail, setting apart a quiet place for confession and prayer, where the young man confessed and renounced his sins, and Owen had the opportunity to pray with him.
Outside of ministry, Owen is a husband (to Staci) and father of seven who loves spending time with his family. Croquet, bike rides, reading, playing games together, and just about anything else that lets him be with his family are the kinds of moments he treasures most.
