As a high schooler, Monte was blessed by a Tentmaker-trained youth director coming to his hometown church. Monte soon after served as a Tentmaker-trained youth director himself. In 1988 he joined the staff serving in many leadership roles. In 1996, he launched off into the business world, working for various companies in human resources leadership positions. Over the years, Monte and his wife Lisa remain close to Tentmakers and Wilderness North. As Monte has said, "Once you have experienced the transformational nature of Tentmakers' Christ-centered training, you can't help but continue to live with a 'life on mission' mindset."  Monte has stayed active as a trainer for Tentmakers programs. In this time of transition, the Board of Directors called on Monte to serve as the organization's interim executive director.  Monte is using his strengths in leadership and management to navigate the organization as it finds its way with a succession plan. While Monte shares the same last name with Dick Amundson, they are not related...just brothers in Christ!
