The LINC (short for Living IN Christ) is designed to bring Tentmakers training into local communities that have a passion to reach young adults.

The LINC is sponsored by one or more churches who select leaders who are trained by Tentmakers to build relationships and deliver Tentmaker training. Young adults are identified and prepared to participate in the LINC training for a series of nine-week disciple-making treks. Each trek begins with a two-day retreat and then sessions on a weekly basis. The mission is to build relationships with young adults, call them to follow Jesus Christ and be his disciples…who make more disciples.

Living IN Christ – AN EXPEDITION IN DISCIPLE-MAKING LEADERSHIP

WHY: To fulfill the “great commission” of Jesus--the most influential leader of all time (Matthew 28:19-20)

WHO: For, with and by a community of students, young adults, and church and community leaders

WHEN: The Expedition begins with a series of Treks. Each trek begins with a two-day retreat followed by eight weekly missions. Each mission includes training, small group fellowship and a real-life practicum.

WHAT: The full Expedition consists of four nine-week treks (ie. meet weekly for 9 weeks), personal growth treks to increase in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and man (Luke 2:52)

       The Four Treks: 
  1. A trek into relationships and purpose with self, others, vocation and citizenship
  2. A trek into Jesus-following discipleship while contemplating the great challenges of life—one’s calling, career, marriage and livelihood
  3. A trek into leadership and growing in confidence by sharpening communication, motivational, management, creative thinking and decision-making skills
  4. A trek into wisdom: developing a worldview that cohesively integrates one’s life, faith and purpose with history, philosophy, science, and all areas of life
  • PLUS additional opportunities for adventure, mission and international treks

HOW: Trained leaders who reach out into the community by building relationships and utilizing the methods and principles of Jesus to identify, inform and prepare those who choose to participate in “The LINC” treks. Tentmakers training is a Christ- centered, team-led, interactive process in which people learn through the modeling, discovery and practice of time-tested principles, in an environment of discipline, affirmation and encouragement. The “LINC” treks are led by one or two “LINC” leaders and a group of team members.

WHERE: The LINC “base-camp” is housed somewhere in the community and is supported by the Church and the greater community

REQUIREMENTS: 
  • A church or a group of churches in a community forms the LINC.
  • The LINC enters into a partnership with Tentmakers to train a group of leaders who will deliver the four “Trek” training sessions.
  • Tentmakers provides the curriculum and the coaching to help the leaders succeed. The LINC is managed by a support team of three or more church and community leaders.
