LQ: One Mom's Perspective "God Changed My Daughter"

    I wanted to share with you the incredible impact you had on my daughter, Hannah, this past summer. She attended Leadership Quest with our church.

     I had tried all summer to get her to go and she refused. The night before they left for Leadership Quest our church had a last minute cancellation, and Hannah agreed to go. She has told me since coming back that getting to go and then not being able to think about it much, was a totally God thing. She says she had a divine appointment.

Before she left Hannah was staying in her room, except for school. She wouldn't talk with us much. She never participated in family things. She refused to go to church. She was loosing large amounts of weight to not eating. She had also been “cutting”.  I felt as a mom I was loosing my daughter.

She came back from that week a totally changed girl!! Everyone that knows her has commented on the positive change in her. She attends church, is active in Youth Group, and frequently shares with me prayer concerns and what God is presently teaching her.

She went from a hiding from the world to trying to impact it. She told me she shared about the sexual abuse that happened to her as a young girl. She has been spending time learning about how to help other victims, and how to share with them that there is healing, hope for restoration, and freedom from the shame.

She attends a charter school where they use a project based system. She wrote a paper about Leadership Quest for a lifelong learning credit of .1, after reading the paper her advisor had her do a new project about her week long summer experience. The staff at her school were so impressed with the program you use, and commented to me that they couldn't believe the change in Hannah. Several said they went online to check out your website to gather more information about Tentmakers.

God gets the ultimate glory for my daughters changed life, but you were who God used to bring about that change. Everytime someone else comments about Hannah's change, I tell them about how God used your ministry to rescue her.

Thank you seems so inadequate for what Leadership Quest has done for my daughter. My husband and I keep you in our prayers. I praise God that you were there!!
